According to Huawei, there are infringing and counterfeiting mobile phones and spare parts in the market. Shenzhen Market Supervision Bureau traced the source of relevant violations and found that the use of infringing products “Internet + nationwide chain maintenance” is a new form of intellectual property infringement: headquartered in “Geek Repair”, a mobile phone repair chain company in Chongqing, uses the Internet platform to carry out repair services for mobile phones and other Electronic products in an O2O model (online ordering, offline store repair). Its business involves many well-known brands such as Huawei, but it has been confirmed by Huawei that the Huawei-branded accessories it uses are all infringing products.

According to information on the official website of “Geek Repair”, it has three service methods, including door-to-door, in-store and mail, and supports the repair of products including smartphones, iPads, Apple notebooks, Apple watches, smart robots, and keep treadmills. And said that the company has obtained authorization from Meizu mobile phones, OPPO mobile phones, smart companion robots, Rokid robots, and Keep treadmills, and uses original accessories to provide users with more professional services.

In the crackdown on infringement, 27 target points were inspected, and more than 120,000 counterfeit mobile phone accessories such as Huawei and Apple were seized. Among them, Shenzhen inspected 10 target points and seized more than 102,000 counterfeit mobile phone accessories. Shenzhen also sent one The action team went to Chongqing to cooperate with the local network, inspected the headquarters of “Geek Repair” on site, and retrieved the company’s back-end financial and operational data. According to preliminary calculations, the total amount involved in the case since 2017 has reached 300 million yuan.

In 2018, “Geek Repair” received two rounds of financing. According to the official announcement of “Geek Repair”, as of August this year, Geek Repair has more than 10 million users, covering 130 cities across the country.

After the rectification of infringement actions, the current geek repair platform is still running normally, but there is no Huawei option in the optional repair mobile phones.
