Toshiba releases its first 200V transistor output automotive optocoupler

Toshiba Electronic Components and Storage Co., Ltd. (“Toshiba”) recently announced the launch of a high-voltage transistor output automotive optocoupler-“TLX9188”, which is used for signal isolation and communication of automotive equipment including electric vehicles. The product began to support bulk shipments today.

The high-voltage phototransistor of TLX9188 provides a 200V collector-emitter rated voltage, which is 2.5 times higher than Toshiba’s current TLX9185A. It is Toshiba’s first product to reach this level.[1]. By specifying the maximum value of the switching characteristics (on time, off time), this new type of optocoupler can be used as a one-way switch. In addition, it can also be used in the analog signal feedback Circuit of 100V to 200V equipment, helping to reduce the cost of application Circuits.
